The School of Business Studies was established in 2002, the inception of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro. Its first students were admitted into the 2002/2003 Academic session into the Department of Office Technology and Management (OTM) which was then known as Department of Secretarial Studies.
The following academic session, 2003/2004 saw students admitted into the other three Departments: Accountancy, Banking and Finance, and Business Administration and Management.
After twelve years of existence, the school has in the current session of 2015/2016 taken a huge leap by flagging off two additional Departments. These are the Departments of Marketing and Mass Communication.
Today, the school of Business Studies has six (6) Departments namely, Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Mass Communication and Office Technology and Management.
All the programmes in the school are fully accredited.

Oboro Oghenero Godday is a Principal Lecturer in Banking and Finance Department and was a former Director of Weekend Programme, and Head of Department for several years. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (B.Sc) and Masters in Banking and Finance (MBF) from a prestigious Delta State University, Abraka. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Banking (M.Sc) from University of Port Harcourt and currently on his Ph.D programme in Finance.
He is a member of many professional bodies and has authored many books in Economics, Finance and Management and also published numerous articles in reputable international and local journals on various Finance, and Management issues.
