School of Environmental Studies

Right from the inception of the Polytechnic in 2002, the Departments of Building Technology and Quantity Surveying was domiciled in the School of Engineering until 2009/2010 academic session when the school of Engineering was split into two schools i.e. School of Engineering and School of Environmental Studies. 

School of Environmental Studies has two departments: Building Technology and Quantity Surveying departments respectively, with Geo Informatics unit as a servicing unit in the Polytechnic. Building Technology and Quantity Surveying departments run both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes. The National Diploma programmes have received full accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education. Approval to mount the Higher National Diploma programmes in Building Technology and Quantity Surveying was granted in 2018. Plans to mount other programmes such as Architecture, Estate Management, Town, Urban and Regional Planning programmmes etc have reached advanced stages.

The current Dean of school is QS Ogochukwu Osubor.

 

The current Dean of School of Environmental Studies is QS Ogochukwu Osubor. He is a Principal Lecturer, a Fellow of The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and a Fully Registered Quantity Surveyor with The Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria. He has authored several papers/journals both in local and International Journals and textbooks in Tendering and Estimating.
